IWHR’s self-developed technologies and products made a stunning appearance at the 19th International Expo on Advanced Water Technologies and Products hosted by the Science and Technology Promotion Center of the Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) of China, on March 28 in Guangzhou City in South China.
Echoing the Expo’s theme, “Advanced and practical technologies for high-quality development of the water sector,” the institute showcased nine of its new technologies/products, namely the termite monitoring devices, the Beidou patrol terminals for community-based flood monitoring and preparedness, the flood control integrated dispatch and decision support system based on digital twinning of the river basin, the dynamic forecast and early warning of flash floods, the comprehensive national platform for drought monitoring and early warning, the model of intelligent identification of water-related elements, the optimization and enhancement technology for the ecological scheduling of hydropower projects, the coating technology for reducing resistance of and attachment (by shellfish or ice) to hydraulic structures, and the key digital twinning technology for the structural safety of high concrete dams.
The institute has made scientific and technological innovations in fields such as flood control, drought relief, restoration of the eco-environment of rivers and lakes, digital twinning for water conservancy, and the safety during the operation and management of water projects. Displayed through exhibits, videos, display boards, etc. during the Expo, its technologies/products aroused great interest of the viewers, and numerous water experts and professionals quested upon the possible cooperation.
