Vice President of University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), Mr. Ronnie Green, along with his two colleagues, visited IWHR to further technical cooperation on September 10, 2014.
IWHR Vice President Yang Xiaodong and Chief Engineer Gao Zhanyi met with the visitors. Yang welcomed the delegation with a special greeting for the Teacher’s Day of China. He reviewed the sound and effective cooperation between IWHR and UNL since 2010, especially after the two sides signed the MOU in 2013. Yang said that the two sides enjoyed a broad prospect for cooperation in technology and management of efficient irrigation, looking forward to the furthering of experience and technology sharing in this sector.
Mr. Ronnie Green appreciated the hospitality of IWHR. He briefed upon the progress of project cooperation between UNL and IWHR on agricultural irrigation, presented a new introductory video about the University of Nebraska and proposed suggestions for the following visit of UNL experts to IWHR in October.
Experts from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage of IWHR introduced the application of efficient irrigation technology in China, the existing problems and challenges and the suggestions for future cooperation with UNL in terms of subjects and ways of cooperation, financial support, etc. The two sides also talked about co-organizing session on irrgation technology during the 7th World Water Forum in Korea next year.
