Dr. Joseph H.W. Lee
President of Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST)
President of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR)
Appointed as an IWHR Eminent Scholar in 2019, Professor Joseph H.W. Lee is the President of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR). He is the first Chinese scholar to be elected as the President of IAHR. He is also serving as the President of the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), with an honorary title of the Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering of the UK.
Professor Lee obtained his BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Civil Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His research focuses on the use of hydraulics to solve environmental problems, in particular the theory of buoyant jets and its environmental applications, and the prediction and control of water quality.
