In accordance with the requirements of high-quality development of rural water supply in China and the principle of "building large water supply plants, merging medium sized ones and reducing small ones", priority has been given to promoting urban and rural water supply integration and large-scale construction of centralized water supply, in a bid to normalize small water supply projects according to local conditions and promote standardized construction, management and protection models of rural water supply in all aspects. In order to solve the problems facing rural water use in respect of water resources management, water use efficiency, water supply quality, and operating efficiency, it is essential to develop the complete technology for intelligent management and control of centralized water supply in the countryside, with smart water meter as key water measurement instruments, and such technology is worthy of wider application.
After the development and successful application of the wireless remote smart water meter, Tianjin IWHR Mechanical & Electrical Technology Co.,Ltd. has further explored water metering and safe control based on its well-established automatic control technology and mature water pump manufacturing and testing capabilities.
The "Complete Pack of Technologies for Intelligent Management and Control of Centralized Water Supply in Rural Areas" includes water lifting/supply system, water metering instrument, water filtration, purifying and quality monitoring devices, and automatic monitoring system platform, among others.
· Development of water meters that are capable of both metering and wireless remote transmission of data.
· Development of an intelligent water supply management platform.
· Integration of a complete pack of technologies for intelligent management and control of centralized water supply.
· Having developed a smart water meter capable of wireless remote transmission based on the narrowband Internet of Things (IoT) communication technology; having developed a pipeline-type pre-filtration device based on microfiltration (MF) and ultrafiltration (UF) technologies.
· Having proposed a complete pack of technologies by adopting the idea of open design, which integrates water filtration, purification, disinfection, metering and quality monitoring devices and techniques in a flexible manner; enabling flexible configuration according to the environmental conditions in different places and assembly of prefabricated module components, making the construction and installation simple and fast, operation less energy-consuming and maintenance easy.
· Having developed an intelligent management platform based on C/S and B/S Architectures according to different application scenarios; having integrated the cyber security protection technology and adopted a physical/cyber dual security strategy; having employed an intelligent management to enable real-time sensing of the whole process from water withdrawal at the source, water production at waterworks, water delivery in pipelines and water consumption at the end users.
The "Complete Pack of Technologies for Intelligent Management and Control of Centralized Water Supply in Rural Areas" has been successively applied to projects such as the water quality improvement project at Mulintun, Nongna Village, Dahua County, Guangxi, the water supply guarantee projects for rural revitalization in villages of Zhongwu, Wucheng, Shangwu and Jiacheng, Dahua County, Guangxi, the water-saving renovation project at the office area of IWHR Headquarters (North), the smart water meter improvement projects at Daxing and Yanqing Experimental Bases of IWHR, the water supply renovation project for SHIVC's smart park, and the infrastructure renovation project for resettlement areas in Jizhou, Tianjin, etc. Since its application, the technology has been praised by users due to the stable and reliable operation and convenient management of its subsystems.
The "Complete Pack of Technologies for Intelligent Management and Control of Centralized Water Supply in Rural Areas" has been included into the 2022 Guidance for the Key Promotion of Advanced and Practical Water-related Technology and the List of Mature and Applicable Scientific and Technological Achievements in Water Sector for Promotion and Application in 2023.
