IWHR Upgrades Governors for Honghua Hydropower Station in Guangxi

2014-07-09

IWHR successfully upgrades the governors for all the six generating units at Honghua Hydropower Station in south China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous region.

As per the contract, the upgraded governors for the units are CVZT-150-6.3 digital logic cartridge valve type of DVG-2000 series developed by Beijing IWHR Corporation. The upgraded governors lengthened the oil pump start-up interval from 20 minutes to eight hours, hence significantly prolonging the life of oil pumps and motors and saving energy.

One of the highlights of the upgraded governor is that it can maintain stable operation without vibration even when the oil pipeline is as long as 50 meters and has no special stabilizing pipe straps. The DGV2000 series governors have up till now been used in diverse kinds of hydropower generating units and exported to countries such as Myanmar, Vietnam, Turkey, etc.

Honghua Hydropower Station is the furthest station downstream in a cascade of hydropower stations on Liujiang River, a tributary of Pearl River. Its main purpose is for power generation and navigation. The station is equipped with six units each with a capacity of 38 MW.
