With focus on research on water and soil conservation monitoring technologies, the Ecological Observation Test Field of Grassland Soil and Water Loss also carries out observational studies on the water and soil conservation management and ecological restoration of degraded grassland, vegetation succession and biodiversity changes, water migration and carbon cycle, and aims to collect basic data through long-term monitoring and tests.
Covering a total area of 133hm2, and equipped with 30 scientific research rooms, as well as 135 sets of scientific research facilities for meteorology, hydrology, soil and vegetation, etc., the Test Field is mainly engaged in studies on grassland soil erosion monitoring, water and soil conservation and ecological restoration technologies, grassland ecological hydrology, carbon cycle process, artificial grassland introduction and irrigation, and wind and solar energy utilization technologies, etc.
