Established in 2006, covering an area of 3861.3 m2, and with a total building area of 9287.4 m2, the Hydraulic Machinery Laboratory is currently the only industry-neutral lab in China. The maximum head of the test platform is 150m, the maximum flow is 2.2 m3/s, and the overall error of the model efficiency test is less than ±0.2%. With integrated experimental capabilities, the hydraulic machinery model test platform is qualified for various experiments on hydraulic turbines, pumps, and pump-turbines, as well as in-situ calibration of forward and reverse electromagnetic flowmeters. The multiphase flow test bench in the Lab is the largest of its kind in the world. In addition, the Lab has an experimental device for sediment abrasion and cavitation. The Lab has long been engaged in hydro-mechanical model experiments and studies, and has completed a series of experimental study tasks for national key projects such as the Three Gorges Right Bank, Xiluodu, Xiangjiaba, Jinping I, Jinping II, Gezhouba, Baihetan and Shuangpai Hydropower Stations, etc., as well as for overseas projects in Laos, Vietnam, Malaysia and Turkey, etc.
