The Engineering Seismic Laboratory is equipped with a large three-way simulation shaking table with six degree of freedom, a 1500T material dynamic tension and compression testing machine, and a complete set of equipment for on-site vibration testing and strong motion observation. It has developed professional software for dam static and dynamic analysis of dam body-reservoir-foundation interactions; established a large-scale high-performance parallel computing platform; made breakthrough in critical seismic technologies for major water conservancy, hydropower, nuclear power and petrochemical projects; and developed seismic theories and methods for structures such as high dams. Currently, the Lab has initially established an open technology research and development, promotion and application, and training platform to promote the continuous advancement of seismic safety technologies of water engineering, improve the safe and effective operation of water conservancy projects, give full play to their benefits, and provide sound technical support for the management decisions of the superior authorities.
