Covering an area of 1200 m2, and with more than 200 sets of equipment, the Water Environment Laboratory has become a national water environment research unit. It is dedicated to meeting national goals, requirements of the Ministry of Water Resources for water supply and drinking water quality safety, rational use and protection of water resources, as well as other industrial needs; carrying out extensive scientific research in the field of water environmental protection; and leading the development of water environment and biology in water conservancy industry. The Lab is the authoritative technical support unit for water environment and ecological testing; the general center for quality control of national water environment laboratories; the water quality testing technology research and development center, and the technical support center for major water quality issues; the core technology hub of water quality monitoring and traceability systems; as well as the authoritative compilation and distribution organization of water quality information within the water resources systems.
