Abstract: The layout of the water network to a certain extent determines the pattern of economic and social development of the country or region, forming a closely linked watershed ecological and economic belt, and can radiate and stimulate the development of the surrounding areas. China has gradually evolved from the "river-sea" T-shaped water network economic belt with the former eastern coastal economic belt and Yangtze River economic belt as the main axis to the "river-river-sea" Π-shaped water network economic pattern with the eastern coastal belt, Yangtze River economic belt and Yellow River ecological economic belt as the main axis. In order to cope with the large gap between the economic development of the South and the North and the unbalanced development of the East and West, the concept of "Double T" -shaped water network economic layout is proposed, aiming to form the "Eastern Coastal Economic Zone-Yangtze River Economic Zone" as the core of the southern water network economic zone (NT) and "Yellow River Ecological Economic Zone-Western Economic Zone" as the core of the northern water network economic zone (ST), which can form a water network economic pattern of interconnection, interoperability, and mutual assistance. The construction of "Double T" -shaped water network economic pattern, is of great significance for supporting the major national strategy of the Yellow River Basin, driving the rise of the west, promoting the balanced and synergistic development of the north, south, and east and west of China, and promoting the integration of ethnic groups and cultures. The implementation of the western water transfer and the improvement of the national water network are important foundations for building the economic pattern of the "Double T" -shaped water network.
