Study on adaptive intelligent cooling strategy for low-heat cement RCC

Abstract: Study on temperature control characteristics and adaptive intelligent cooling strategy for low-heat cement RCC is of great significance for dam cracking control in dry-hot valley environment. This study analyzes challenges and difficulties for low-heat cement RCC cracking control, proposes numerical analysis method of dam temperature and stress field during construction period, and raise the adaptive intelligent cooling strategy. Base on Wudongde low-heat cement RCC secondary gravity dam project, temperature and stress change characteristics of different zones of the whole dam are revealed by 3D simulation. By applying self-developed intelligent cooling 2.0 system, regional adaptive intelligent cooling is realized in Wudongde secondary dam. Field monitoring and simulation analysis result show that the maximum temperature coincidence rate reaches 100%, indicating that the adaptive intelligent cooling strategy can meet the requirements of cracking prevention in dry-hot valley environment. This study promotes simplification of RCC dam construction technology and improves concrete quality and efficiency. Monitoring data during water storage process shows that the safety of Wudongde secondary dam is guaranteed, and the results can be used for reference for similar projects worldwide.
