Abstract: This paper adopts nonlinear optimization methods to statistically analyze the crack opening monitoring data of Wuqiangxi navigation lock. It focuses on the influence mechanism of water level and temperature effects on the navigation lock crack opening, and establishes a statistical model for it. Through using the non-linear fitting method it isolates the impact of water level and temperature effects on crack opening and makes it explicit that the running water level is the primary factor affecting the crack opening of navigation lock, and the temperature changes may also affect the changes of crack opening, thereby affecting the effect of water pressure. Finally, combined with the analysis of monitoring data, it indicates that Wuqiangxi navigation lock is running safely below the water level of EL.108m, and it also emphasizes that observation shall be intensified so that the operations should be limited, analyzed and the navigation lock should be reinforced once exceptions appear in observations or changes happen in trend.

Key words: navigation lock, statistic model, nonlinear optimization, crack opening
