Abstract: Based on the engineering practice in the foundation pit excavation for circulating cooling water outfall of the first-stage project of Sanmen nuclear power station, the combined design technology of double-row steel sheet cofferdam and cement retaining wall were introduced in this paper and three-dimensional numerical simulation of the overall stability of the supporting structure were conducted. The corresponding reinforcement measures and their application effects for the continuous deformation of the supporting structure under complex hydrogeological conditions were analyzed and discussed. This engineering practice showed that the combined design technology of double-row steel sheet cofferdam and cement retaining wall effectively solved the difficulty in preventing tide and supporting foundation pit in shoal excavation engineering and could provide technical support for other similar projects.
Key words: shoal excavation engineering, steel sheet cofferdam, cement retaining wall, design and application
