Analysis on design and construction of deep foundation pit of drainage culvert in marine soft soil region

Abstract: The key construction measurements and composite support technologies of pile-anchor, inner support system and gravity retaining wall in the marine soft soil region was introduced and analyzed in this pa per, based on the foundation pit engineering of Sanmen nuclear power drainage culvert in the first and second phases. The results showed that the application of composite support technologies successfully achieved the safety of foundation pit excavation. Meanwhile, the design and application of an artificial transportation platform for earthworks solved the construction transportation problem and realized the objects of supporting, water proofing and earth retaining. The short piles being driven and overlapped among the foundation piles efficiently dealt with the technical problems of the insufficient passive earth pressure and quality control of foundation piles. It is suggested that design and construction should be closely integrated during the large-scale foundation pit support and ground treatment in order to realize the safe and economic structure.
