Abstract: Based on Skyline and GIS technology, 3D-GIS system for barrier lake management is built by C# language of Visual Studio 2005. The platform is integrated with database and GIS system, quite well and includes the functions of the information services (add, delete, change, check, etc.), three-dimension al display (space view, flight, map navigation, spatial information query, 3D information label, 3D model loading, management of the thematic layer, etc.), spatial analysis (spatial distance measurement, area measurement, generation of cross-sectional and contours, etc.), and professional inundation analysis, volume estimation, flood routing, risk assessment and disaster assessment. The system can be a decision support plat form for barrier lake emergency management.
