Abstract: The concrete foundation structure of wind turbine has the characteristics of large volume and dense reinforced distribution. Due to the limitations of site conditions, many defects forming during the construction, such as the construction joint and honeycomb hole, threaten the structural operation safety. Nowadays, there is no effective method in this field for measurement and evaluation. With full consideration of structural characteristics, the impact-echo technique was introduced and applied to determine the concrete construction defects of the wind turbine foundation, which has been combined with the method of drilling core sample to validate. In light of the America concrete structure design standard ACI318-2008 method, the structure safety of wind turbine concrete foundation is evaluated. It is proved that the impact echo detection combined with core sampling can be applied to the detection of construction defects of the wind tur bine foundation.
