Abstract: According to the initial body design of the Sanhekou double-curvature arch dam and the topography and geological condition of the dam site area, the finite element model is established, which can reflect the interaction between the dam concrete and the bedrock. The Saptis and the multi-parameter yielding model is used, which can reflect the strength characteristics of dam structure to conduct the elastic and nonlinear analysis of the whole structure and study the stress conditions and loading capacity of the initial body design of the Sanhekou arch dam. Calculation results show that the stress distribution of this body design conforms to the standard and the size of numerical value meets requirements. This body design can provide a support for the optimal design and the construction at later stage.
