Abstract: According to Specifications of seismic design of hydraulic structures, the dynamic concrete modulus of elasticity of concrete dams should be raised 30 percent compared with that of statics. The seismic design of hydraulic structures has no specification of dynamic rock modulus of deformation, and the dynamic deformation modulus is often raised 30 percent compared with that of statics in the current engineering practice. According to the new Specifications of seismic design of hydraulic structures that is under revision, the dynamic concrete modulus of elasticity of concrete dam should be raised 50 percent compared with that of statics, and the dynamic deformation modulus can be taken as static value. In response to this change, the dynamic analysis of various-height arch dams were carried out to evaluate the influence on the dynamic properties and seismic response due to above two kinds of dynamic concrete modulus of elasticity and dynamic rock modulus of deformation in this paper. The result shows that two kinds of modulus of concrete and rock have no significant influence on the dynamic properties and seismic response of arch dams.

Key words: arch dam, dynamic concrete modulus of elasticity, dynamic rock modulus of deformation, dynamic property, seismic response
