Abstract: The Water-exporting area of the Western Route Project of the South-to-North Water Diversion is of strategic importance to the development of northwest China. Water-exporting area along the Project is studied in the present paper. Through water resources optimization allocation model of dynamic simulation, the paper makes omnibearing and multivariant optimal allocation of water resources, according to the diverse circumstances in different level years, and presents the quantitative results for each project, This paper gives the results of the recommended scheme of water resources allocation after comprehensive analysis and comparison. In addition, the influence of the Western Route Project on the balance of supply and demand for water resources among the directly affected areas and indirectly affected areas is analyzed by the with-and-without the Project. Based on optimizing configuration of the results, reasonable suggestions are proposed on issues of the water resource compensation for the directly affected areas and the water resources allocation scheme for the researching areas.
