Abstract: Numerical model of basin irrigation water flow is a necessary tool to design and evaluate surface irrigation systems. In this study, the time scheme of second order accurate implicit backwards difference was firstly used to form a time-stepping of 2D surface water flow model of basin irrigation, and then the finite-difference, finite-volume and finite element methods were respectively implemented to discretize the spatial derivative of physical flux linear approximation coefficient from implicit time scheme and linearization process, spatial derivative of physical flux and elevation vector of source items. Finally, time-space discretization formed algebra equations was solved. A 2D surface water flow numerical model of basin irrigation based on the hybrid numerical method was developed.
