Abstract: This paper studies the serious water environment problems of the Haihe River Basin. Water quality module of SWAT model was established according to the data from 1995 to 2004, and the Nash-Sutcliffe efficiency values in calibration and validation are 0.70, 0.55, respectively. Based on the computation and simulation of SWAT model, temporal and spatial distribution of pollution loadings were analyzed, the key source areas were identified and the pollution loading contributions for studying key source areas were also computed. The results show that there is a good correlation between pollution loadings and surface flow. The key source areas are southwest and northeast of the urban district, east of Xiqing and Dongli, north of Jinnan and Tanggu. The urban runoff non-point pollution is the highest in pollution loadings contribution, which is 38.6%, the next is point pollution which is 31.1%.
