【Abstract】 If the layout of the new spillway structures in hydroelectric project is not well agreed with the flow pattern, it may cause the flow turbulent in inlet, which would affect the discharge capacity of new structures, the inflow condition of the new machine set and energy dissipation of the water apron. The optimal layout scheme of the new spillway structure which include the medium-barrier in the still basin, the new scouring sluice, the left separation partition and the right guide wall at inlet are well examined by hydraulic model tests.
