The International Soil and Water Conservation Research (ISWCR) is an international academic Journal publishing globally in English quarterly. It was initiated in June 2013 under the supervision of the Ministry of Water Resources, co-owned and sponsored by IWHR, the International Research and Training Center on Erosion and Sedimentation (IRTCES), and China Water & Power Press.

The online publishing and production of the Journal is hosted and supported by Elsevier. All papers published are available online on ScienceDirect with open access globally. In 2015, ISWCR was indexed by Chinese Science and Citation Database (CSCD) in core collection. In 2016, the SCOPUS had ISWCR indexed and the coverage was tracked back to the first issue in 2013. In 2017, ISWCR was indexed by Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) with coverage since 2015.

As the official journal of the World Association of Soil and Water Conservation (WASWAC), ISWCR is a multidisciplinary journal about research, practice, policies and perspectives related to soil and water conservation, aiming to disseminate knowledge and promote related practices. It mainly publishes the latest research achievements, dynamic monitoring, effect evaluation and discussions about cutting-edge issues in soil erosion, watershed management, water resources assessment and management, nonpoint-source pollution, conservation models, tools, and technologies, farmland conservation, land degradation, sustainable use of water and soil, etc.
